A quick postcard from Peru @ IPRA world congress
Second day I spend in Lima for the World Congress of the IPRA. It is the first time in my life I am going to South America even if I had previously traveled a lot.

I am delighted to be here. First for the professional reasons. We do not say it enough, but communication has to be learned and it is constantly evolving. All those who believe that simply having a "sense of relationhip and some talkative skills" is enough to do public relations and become a good professional are wrong (and you can not even imagine the number of resumes that I receive with what kind of formulas).

This is certainly a human science but you have to learn it and deepen your knowledges when practicing public relations. And there, for two days, I feel like going back at the univeristy.

I am also delighted to discover a country which I was almost ignoring. Even if I can not say that I will have fully discovered it in four days, I discovered a lot through conversations I had with Peruvians I meet. I knew nothing about this country that has undeniable qualities. People are particularly open, the country abounds in natural and cultural resources, major universities and an incredible appetite for knowledge. And this is especially obvious for me that I feel it's an appetite that the French have lost a little over the years.

Difficult to imagine the quality of the attendance of 600 people at this conference and their willingness to delve into the subjects they are offered. They are attentive, participatory and incredibly relevant in their approach. It is really great to be here with them.

Today, I give a presentation on the new powers for citizens and their importance in public relations at the time of Web 2.0.

The pressure starts to rise.
